Frigate Changes: Rifter

Alice had got so much into the way of expecting nothing but out-of-the-way things to happen, that it seemed quite dull and stupid for life to go on in the common way.
--Lewis Carroll

Part 4 of an ongoing series.  Stop by the thread to view all the proposed changes and feel free to get caught up on the previous posts in the series.  Today we'll be looking at the T1 Frigate by which all others are measured; the Rifter.

RIFTER:

Unchanged bonuses
Unchanged Slot layout: 4 H, 3 M, 3 L, 3 turrets, 2 launchers
Unchanged fittings: 37 PWG, 125 CPU
Defense (shields / armor / hull) : 450 / 400 / 400
Capacitor (amount / recharge rate / cap per second): 240 / 180 s / 1.33
Mobility (max velocity / agility / mass / align time): 355 / 3.19 / 1067000 / 3.19 s
Drones (bandwidth / bay): 0 / 0
Targeting (max targeting range / Scan Resolution / Max Locked targets): 22.5km / 660 / 4
Sensor strength: 8 Ladar
Signature radius: 35

No reflection on the Rifter itself, but this post stands to be rather bland.  No much has actually changed about the ship, and the fittings that are to be presented already work just fine with the ship as it is now.  If anything can be learned from looking at the changes to the Rifter I would think it is this; CCP isn't so much buffing T1 Frigates to make them more appealing to people who don't fly Frigates, but they are trying to make all the T1 Frigates as viable as the most popular of them all, the Rifter.  But enough trying to understand the mind of CCP, onto the changes.

Unchanged bonuses

Yup.

Defense (shields / armor / hull) : 450 / 400 / 400

More of the sam- I mean, changed from 391/351/336 giving the Rifter a pretty sizable increase across all three types.

Capacitor (amount / recharge rate / cap per second): 250 / 125 s / 2

Changed from 250/187/1.33, so a very slight increase in recharge.

Mobility (max velocity / agility / mass / align time): 355 / 3.19 / 1067000 / 3.19 s

I very slight change to velocity from 353/3.19/1067000/3.19 which feels more like CCP wanting nice round numbers to work with than anything else.

Drones (bandwidth / bay): 0 / 0

No change.

Targeting (max targeting range / Scan Resolution / Max Locked targets): 22.5km / 660 / 4

No change.

Sensor strength: 8 Ladar

No change.

Signature radius: 35

No change.

I told you it would be boring...

Fittings

As mentioned above, nothing has really changed.  With no adjustments to PG/CPU or Slot Layout, these are all currently viable Rifter fits that I can't claim credit for inventing.  They all perform in almost exactly the same way they do now, only receiving an EHP increase across the board which helps the Rifter catch up to recently buffed AFs and Destroyers to some degree.  I include them more for the sake of completeness and because I've never done a post that said "Hey, these are Standard Rifters that you should fly, stop copying idiotic things from Battleclinic," than anything else.

  1. So how do's the new tormentor compare? By the sound of it the only mining frigate to be changed to a combat roll this coming expansion will be the amarr one.
